Chasing Bur Dubai was born out of a need to tell the stories of the Dubai that existed way before Sheikh Zayed Road did. Born in the UAE and having lived in and out of the country my entire life, I had seen the dramatic change over the last two decades. There were enough stories that spoke of the hip new South side with its pristine structures and shiny developments.
Yet barely anything about the Dubai that I once knew.
As a photographer and filmmaker I set out to capture Old Dubai in hopes of preserving it. Even if just for my sake. In particular Bur Dubai. I ended up meeting people that make Bur Dubai what it is: vibrant, bustling and whole-heartedly generous.
My goal is to continue telling these stories, creating a portrait of a place that I hope is never forgotten.
